St Albans took the lead through Moussa Diarra, but the Tudors were back on level terms before half-time courtesy of Alex Campana.

The Saints regained the lead through Richard Graham, but Hemel battled back to secure the win with goals from Matt Judge and Victor Osubu.

Tudors boss Dean Brennan rotated his squad for the game and it was St Albans who took the lead with 16 minutes played as Diarra got his head to a corner and sent a looping effort into the net.

The hosts had the chance to extend their lead through former Tudor Lewis Toomey, but it was Hemel who forced the equaliser seven minutes before half-time. Osubu’s pace sent him clear, and his cross was bundled home by Campana to level the scores.

Both teams had chances at the start of the second half, with Saints striker Barry Hayles’ effort scrambled off the line, before Jordan Parkes crashed an effort off the post at the other end.

Saints regained their lead through Graham, but Hemel were back on level terms on 68 minutes as Judge headed in.

Keen to get the job done before extra-time, Brennan introduced Dave Pearce from the bench – and he made an immediate impact. The winger broke free on the left and crossed for Osubu to spin and fire his team into the next round.
