Cup upset for Levy Green

There was a shock result in the St Mary’s Cup as an experimental Leverstock Green side were dumped out of the competition by Chipperfield Corinthians.

MSSML Premier Division side Levy were strong favourites going into the game, but Chipperfield – representing the Herts County League – upset the odds to book their place in the semi-finals with a 3-1 victory.

Visitors Corinthians raced into a 3-0 lead before half-time and, despite Craig Sharples pulling a goal back for Levy after the interval, the away side went on to secure the win.

Next up for Green is a trip to London Tigers for a league match on Saturday afternoon.
