Preparations for the new season continue at Broadwater with the annual pitch revamp taking place this week ahead of Berkhamsted’s clash with Hemel Town at the start of July and the visit of Dunstable Town a fortnight later.

The Comrades have been drawn away to Hatfield Town in the Herts Charity Shield on a pre-season date that is still to be arranged.

Berko are looking for further first team pre-season friendlies, particularly away in midweek against clubs at step 5 or higher, and secretary Keith Hicks is the man to contact on 07767 430087.

Meanwhile, the development squad’s friendly programme is nearly complete, but they are on the look out for a first aider to treat players pitchside for the new season.

The club will pay for a training course or refresher to FA standard or a suitable person, if not already qualified.

The side play mostly on Saturdays and a similar vacancy exists midweek for the club’s U18 side. Contact Joe Sweeney on 07967 505268 for information.

As usual, a pre-season a tidy up of the ground is also needed. Any supporters who want to join in can drop the club an e-mail at gshastie@hotmail.com to arrange suitable dates.
