Charlie Mpi was the match-winner for Hemel as he struck to send the Tudors into the second round of the Hertfordshire Charity Cup.

In an even affair, both sides squandered chances, with Cheshunt going close on two occasions early on.

Hemel started to put some passing together as the half progressed and Matthew Judge curled a shot onto the bar after good work by Charlie Mpi.

Mpi was then sent clear on goal but somehow managed to put his shot wide with just the keeper to beat.

The first 20 minutes of the second half were fairly quiet but it burst into life when Hemel keeper Sam Beagle made a fine save to keep the scores level.

At the other end, Alex Campana had a chance to open the scoring, but he was kept at bay by the Cheshunt keeper..

Just as it was looking like a stalemate could be on the cards, the deadlock was finally broken after 75 minutes as Mpi who latched on to a long clearance to volley the Tudors in front.

Thre were further chances at both ends as the clock ticked down, but the Tudors hung on to move into the next round.
