LEVERSTOCK Green have unveiled Steven Benitez as their new first team manager.

Benitez joins the club from Chesham United, where he was manager of their reserve side in Division One of the Molten Spartan South Midlands League.

The 42-year old has played professionally at Brentford, Luton Town and Aldershot and has also played in Spain and the USA.

His Chesham side met Leverstock in the quarter-finals of last season’s Challenge Trophy, with a late winner from Green’s Lewis Pritchard deciding a close game.

Green chairman Kate Binns said “Steve had some stiff opposition, with twelve people applying for the job and six being interviewed.

“He deserved the job and I am extremely excited about his plans.”
