BERKHAMSTED have taken the Herts U14B League crown after victory in the final of the competition against table-toppers Kings Langley.
Langley won the toss and put Berkhamsted into bat, and Berko opener Casey O’Gorman set the tone for the contest with 12 runs from the first three balls.
O’Gorman and fellow opener Daniel Angel rotated the strike, putting the Kings attack under sustained pressure.
Both openers reached 50 and retired, leaving Adam Sibley (9), Ted Stanford (17) and Oliver Holdroyd (21) to continue the accumulation of runs.
Chasing a total of 161-2, Kings Langley lacked the fire-power to take on the disciplined Berko attack.
With Kings needing runs, Berkhamsted remained focused and the Langley wickets began to fall at regular intervals.
Ben Chalmers (3-6) was the pick of the bowlers, but each Berko player did their bit to see the side home to an 82-run win.
