Your chance to challenge celebs in footie match

The Gazette and fundraisers are on the hunt for football fans to take on a team of celebrities in a charity football match.

The likes of Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley, the Royle Family's Ralf Little and cricketer Mark Ramprakash are lined up to take part in the Arsenal All Stars charity game on Sunday, March 21 at Ashlyns School, Berkhamsted.

Joining them on the pitch will be the former EastEnders star Phil Daniels, former world champion boxer Terry Marsh and a host of former Arsenal players including Perry Groves.

The game is being held to raise money for the BerkoAstro campaign- an Ashlyns School and Raiders FC project for a 1.3million football pitch and changing block for the community.

The event is also being organised by the Arsenal Herts & Beds Official Supporters Club and 30 per cent of the profits will go to the Arsenal Charitable Trust.

There are 10 spaces on the team and whoever pledges to raise the most cash in sponsorship, which has to be a minimum of 250, will get a place on the BerkoAstro squad.

Players must be over the age of 30 to take part.

Chair of governors at Ashlyns School, Jackie Webby said: "It's all about having fun whilst raising these funds. It is a wonderful opportunity to have a great laugh and for everyone to enjoy themselves. We need to get our sponsored team finalised as quickly as possible.

"So anyone over 30 who is interested in going up against these wonderful characters from the world of showbiz and the old Arsenal team should get hold of an entry form as quickly as possible."

A full list of the celebrities due to take part can be found at www.berkhamstedtoday.co.uk however, due to their busy schedules, the list can be subject to last minute changes.
