Women’s prayer and charity fair are church hits

WOMEN’S World Day of Prayer was marked by throngs of believers in a town church.

The Friday event at All Saints’ Church, Berkhamsted, was written by women in Chile on the theme of bread and Jesus’ feeding of the 5,000. Caroline Bowie, herself born in Chile, led the service.

Church-goer Audrey Hope said: “It was well attended by a predominantly female congregation from churches across the town with a sprinkling of brave males.”

The event follows a church fair set up by youngsters that raised £250 for an orphanage in New Delhi, India.
