Police rushed to Hemel Hempstead’s town centre after reports of concerns for a woman’s welfare on Friday afternoon.

It is believed that the woman was threatening to jump from a multi-storey car park in Marlowes.

Two members of the public helped the woman and when officers arrived at around 3.30pm she was safe.

A Herts Police spokesman said: “She was subsequently taken to a place of safety.”
