An 86-year-old woman crashed her car just moments after another motorist rang police with concerns about the elderly lady’s driving.

Police were called at 11.10am regarding a motorist travelling at an unusually slow speed in The Laurels, Potten End.

The vehicle - a beige Toyota Yaris - then hit another car in Hempstead Lane on Thursday morning (May 24).

Paramedics rushed to the scene just before 11.30am.

Ambulance spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “A woman sustained minor injuries and following assessments at the scene by the ambulance crew, she was taken to the minor injuries unit at Hemel Hempstead Hospital for further care.”
