Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber’s music comes to Dacorum next month with an amateur production of West End hit Whistle Down The Wind.
The Berkhamsted Theatre Company are giving Tring’s Court Theatre a taste of America’s deep south in the stage adaptation of the novel by Mary Hayley Bell which opens on Tuesday, November 5.
Set in 1950s Louisiana, the audience follows the story of devoutly religious 15-year-old Swallow, who discovers a fugitive hiding in a barn.
The naive youngster believes he is Jesus Christ, so she recruits some of the local children and they make a pact to protect the stranger from the outside world, just as the town’s adults set out on a manhunt for a murderer who is on the loose.
The show runs until Saturday, November 9.
Tickets are priced between £12 and £16, and are available from the Court Theatre box office.
