A Hemel Hempstead beauty queen has been crowned Miss Earth England 2014.
Gabriella Gatehouse, who has appeared in UK Vogue and at London Fashion Week, narrowly missed out in a bid to become Miss Universe earlier this year.
She said: “Miss Earth is an international pageant that promotes environmental awareness.
“Every pageant has a beautiful cause, and for this particular pageant, it is about saving earth - ‘God’s Creation’.
“Miss Earth is one of the three biggest international pageants in the world, including Miss Universe and Miss World!
“In November I will be competing in Philippines for 3 weeks, for the overall Miss Earth Crown! I will be competing with over 90 winners, from all over the world!
“This is a massive achievement, especially for a small town girl! I don’t think another girl has ever won from Hemel Hempstead or Hertfordshire itself!”
Gabriella is best known for winning the Miss Teenager England competition in 2012 and modelling for Nova Chiu at London Fashion Week in 2013.
She was named Miss Teen Photogenic of the world in 2010 and Miss Teen Galaxy England in 2011. She picked up the Miss Socialite award at the Miss Universe GB leg of the competition earlier this year.
She is a former student of Hemel’s Longdean School and Oaklands College in Welwyn Garden City, where she studied information and communications technology.
