A pot of cash is on offer to groups running initiatives to keep people warm this winter.

Herts County Council has been awarded £395,000 from the Department of Health’s Warm Homes Healthy People Fund to help older people and those on low incomes.

Some of the money is on offer to voluntary organisations, social enterprises and community groups working with people who are at risk.

The council is inviting applications from groups that do not already have funding and can deliver support to vulnerable people living in cold housing or those who are homeless.

All funding must be allocated by March 31.

Terms and conditions apply and more information can be found at www.hertsdirect.org/hertshelp or call Andy Nazer on 01438 84111

>If people are struggling or they’re worried about family members, friends or neighbours, they can contact HertsHelp on 0300 123 4044 or visit www.hertsdirect.org/hertshelp
