Vote shows affordable housing is your priority

The results are in from voting boxes provided at Hemel Hempstead’s Civic Centre to give people a chance to say what is most important to them.

Dacorum Borough Council asked householders to vote for what they want the authority to make its priority – affordable housing, the environment or regeneration and economic development – by putting a green token into one of three boxes.

Affordable housing received the most votes.

Council leader Andrew Williams said: “The voting boxes gave residents an opportunity to tell us what we should be focussing on. Feedback plays a vital role for us and helps confirm we’re on track.”

The voting boxes were also used during ‘listening events’ to gauge public feeling. Here a clean, safe and green environment was deemed the most important, followed closely by affordable housing.
