Urgent appeal for charity shop donations

A charity shop is calling for donations after seeing its biggest drop in post-Christmas stock for eight years.

The Cancer Research shop on Berkhamsted High Street said the icy roads, slippery pavements and severe weather has put people off donating goods.

The huge drop in stock has prompted the shop's manager, Lorraine Pearce, to appeal to the public to have a root around or a clear-out and to start giving again.

Mrs Pearce said: "I think one of the main reason we haven't has as many donations is the poor weather- people just haven't been leaving stock and I am very concerned.

"The people of Berkhamsted have always been very supportive and we would like to thank them for being fantastic."
