Customers of a respectable Berkhamsted butchers may have been a little shocked to see its products being used in a rather unusual way during a late-night TV movie.

The short film Mr Lincoln, The Butcher starred John Henshaw as the lead character and was aired on Channel 4 at 11.45pm.

In the storyline, two women visit his shop and after an innuendo-littered narrative, end up stripping to their underwear in a back room while he photographs them posing with his meat products.

Eastwoods spokesman Cathie George said the film was ‘a good way of showing people our shop’.

She said: “We thought it was quite funny, actually. It is bizarre, but we were told it would be a little bit quirky. We thought it was a good bit of harmless fun.”

Filmmakers chose Gravel Path-based Eastwoods as their location because of its image as a traditional country butcher’s shop with a clean premises.

All of the meat used in the movie was prepared by butchers who work at the shop - only to be thrown away after filming had finished.

The movie – which is less than four minutes long – was aired on TV earlier this month after two days of filming at Eastwoods in June.
