A community leader says the sports facilities in Tring are ‘abysmal and dirty and old’ – and need to included in a 25-year development plan for Dacorum.

Dacorum Borough Council has laid down a core strategy for 480 new homes in the town, an extension of Tring School and an expansion of the Icknield Way industrial estate between 2006 and 2031.

But members of Tring Town Council said at a Monday night meeting that the strategy was poorly thought out.

Councillor Michael Hicks said: “There’s mention of sports facilities for Hemel Hempstead – but there’s no mention of the renewal of sports facilities for Tring, which are abysmal and dirty and old.”
