Tring mayor says: ‘Please give your 20p coins to charities’

The mayor of Tring is writing to everybody in the town to ask them to save 20p a week for two good causes.

Roxanne Ransley will also deliver a sticker that says ‘20p’ to every home in the area, so people can stick it to a container to collect the coins in.

People can then give it to her at a stall in Church Yard, Tring, in April to pass on to charities Rennie Grove Hospice Care and Herts Air Ambulance.

She said: “The idea is its the whole town working together to support charity. There are 5,000 households in Tring, plus all of the businesses here.

“If every single person took part, we would raise over £20,000, which would pay for 600 hours of Iain Rennie nursing and five emergency flights.”
