TRING Park School student Gabriella Henderson got top marks from judges on The X Factor, putting her through to the next round of the contest.

The 16-year-old, who received her GCSE grades last week, featured on the show on Saturday, August 18, when she sung a piece inspired by the death of her grandfather, Bill.

Gabriella, who won a scholarship to the school when she was 12, said: “It was definitely a special moment for me and one I will keep forever.”

On the show, she said it was Bill who got her into singing.

She said: “I used to sing to him all the time and put on little shows for him in the living room.

“It is really scary, but my grandad always told me, ‘Do not let anybody stand in your way – if you want to sing, don’t let anybody stop you.”
