WOMEN can expect a warmer welcome when getting their car fixed in a town that now has its first female friendly garage.
London Road-based Roy Chapman Ltd was given the title by female driving firm Foxy Choice out of scores of garages in and around Berkhamsted.
Its owners had to sign a pledge by Foxy Choice to ‘never overcharge, patronise or sell women services they don’t need or want’.
Sales director Justine Chapman said the business has a lot of female customers.
She said: “They like coming to us as we offer a friendly service to all and they don’t find it an intimidating experience when they walk through the door.”
Foxy Choice director Steph Savill added: “Too many garages and car dealerships market their services to men, forgetting that women make the majority of buying decisions today and have very different needs and expectations.
“Garages that promote measurably higher female friendly standards and services, like Roy Chapman Ltd, will soon reap the benefits of getting it right for women.”
