TWO cars and a refuse lorry were caught up in a motorway collision on Friday.

Fire, police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene on the A414 - formerly called the M10 - between Hemel Hempstead and St Albans.

Firefighters were called just after 4.15pm to the southbound carriageway - but left within half-an-hour, because nobody was injured.

Fire service spokesman Simon Hoggett said: “The fire service made the scene safe with the assistance of the police and the ambulance.

“Fire crews from Hemel Hempstead and St Albans attended.”
