A MAN and woman were rushed to hospital after a collision between two cars and a coach.

Firefighters, two ambulance crews and the air ambulance rushed to the scene on Leighton Buzzard Road between Dagnall and Hemel Hempstead just before 9am on Saturday.

Ambulance spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “A man we believe to be in his 20s received injuries to his head and neck and following treatment and stabilisation by land and air ambulance crews at the roadside, he was taken to Watford General Hospital.

“A second casualty, a woman in her 60s, was trapped in a car for approximately 40 minutes.

“Paramedics worked closely with the fire service to treat, stabilise and remove her safely from the car before she was taken to Watford General Hospital with injuries to her leg and abdomen.”

The coach was not carrying passengers at the time of the accident and its male driver was uninjured.
