BUDDING bikers are to benefit from a new clubhouse at their motocross track.

They are taught at the site in Shootersway, Berkhamsted, by Simon Newell, owner of biking club the Chiltern Young Riders, and three others.

The track is covered in large and small bumps, dips and all sorts of twists and turns to get youngsters used to off-road biking.

Work on the site’s clubhouse begun in October and is expected to be finished by autumn this year.

There will be showers, a kitchen, an observation room, first aid area and a classroom to teach mechanics and riding principles in the clubhouse.

Mr Newell said: “Children and adults will be able to enjoy the club even more at the end of this.”

He said he hopes the venue will be opened by representatives from Berkhamsted Town Council.

Anybody older than four can take lessons from Mr Newell’s club, which has been running for more than 15 years.
