Thousands of people are expected to descend on Berkhamsted on Saturday for the town’s first BerkoFest.

Popular folk singer Seth Lakeman will be the headline act at the music and comedy festival in the grounds of Berkhamsted Cricket Club.

Other performers at the event, running from 11am to 10pm, include chart-topping pop band Showaddywaddy, formed in the 1970s, and the town’s very own Ashlyns School rock band The Mans Machine.

Helen Percy, who is helping to organise the event, said: “BerkoFest is a day to explore all sorts of artistic genius; a day to evoke emotion, mood and passion in you. Capture the collective excitement and bonding of music, comedy and art – come to BerkoFest.”
