A posh spa famous for its celebrity clientele will be welcoming another star soon – but this time not as a guest.

The actress who plays Stacey’s mum in the cult comedy Gavin and Stacey will be showing a different side to her talents when she holds a series of pilates retreats at Tring’s Champneys.

Melanie Walters will be at the health resort from September 28 to 30 and also from November 9 to 11.

As well as acting, Melanie also has a successful second career as an advanced pilates trainer and presenter.

She trained at The Pilates Institute in London and has been practising for 15 years and teaching for 10 years.

Each retreat will offer a challenge to those already familiar with the technique as both the improver and intermediate weekends will involve more than nine hours of pilates mat practice, talks and stretch sessions.

Over the weekend, guests will improve their technique, understand their own postural habits, alleviate muscular imbalances, stretch the body and challenge the core.
