A CHARITY that supports old people in the area is calling for people to join its fundraising walk in a bid to help offset funding cuts that threaten to affect its services.
Age Concern Dacorum has to make up a gap in its finances due to a 20 per cent local authority funding cut.
The charity wants as many people as possible to take part in its sponsored walks, which set off from Berkhamsted Castle at 11am on Sunday, October 2.
The £5 entrance fee for the two-mile and the 10-mile walk will go towards a number of charity-run schemes that are vital to old folk living in the area.
Community fundraiser Michelle Law said: “Our aim is to help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience. People want to remain in their own home for as long as possible and we want to help them to do that.”
