Sun shines down on Community Action Dacorum’s town centre fair in Hemel Hempstead

An unusually sunny weekend meant shoppers could stop and enjoy the entertainment on offer at part of a town centre community fair.

Sunday’s event at the bandstand in Marlowes was a chance for clubs and community groups to promote themselves and raise funds.

It was organised by charity group Community Action Dacorum and saw performances from majorettes and dancing troupes.

Radio Dacorum broadcast live from the event and there were plenty of activities to keep youngsters amused, along with charity stalls.

Loretta Anderson from Community Action Dacorum said: “If you are going to have a summer event it is quite nice if the sun does actually shine.

“It was very good, we have a really nice day.

“Part of our role in CAD is to put on opportunities for community organisations to promote themselves and raise funds if they want to. We try to do at least one summer event.”

The charity is an umbrella organisation that provides support to the community and aims to bring people together to achieve more and improve quality of life.
