The new owner of a Bovingdon tea room is planning a series of community events in order to bring a new flavour to the cafe.
Ria Bewick, who took over Stanley’s Store Tea Rooms in the village High Street in January with husband Steve, has now launched a ‘Secret Supper Club’ which will see the quirky unit transformed into a restaurant for one night each month.
The first event takes place this evening, and the idea is to eventually take on a different theme each time.
August’s club, like this month’s, will be at an introductory price of £17.95 per head for three courses – and diners can even bring their own plonk.
Ria transformed Stanley’s Store’s back garden into a Brazilian-themed beach for the duration of the football World Cup, and the businesswoman is also organising an open air cinema event for August 31.
The al fresco movie night will show Top Gun in Bovingdon’s airfield, with plans already in motion for a second cinema night at Christmas.
Tickets for Top Gun will be sold from the tea rooms. Call 01442 834509 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
