THE quarter-acre garden of the house Patchwork in Hall Park Gate, Berkhamsted, will be opened to the public from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday, August 19.

Jean and Peter Block have been opening their garden for the past 12 years, with over 3,000 visitors.

Fuchsias, begonias and dahlias are among the flowers on show there as part of the National Gardens Scheme – which raises funds for nursing, caring and gardening charities.

Admission is £3 – or free for children, dogs are welcome on leads, and the Berkhamsted Lions will be selling teas and plants.
