Police officers and firefighters are on hand with safety advice this Sunday.

A crime-prevention event at Halfords in Apsley from noon to 4pm will allow people to join Neighbourhood Watch, pick up licence plate theft prevention kits and get their horse tack marked for free.

Those taking up the offers can also get a free tea or coffee from nearby McDonald’s.

The teams will also be giving advice about staying safe during the Halloween and Guy Fawkes’ Night period, while fire crews will be giving fire safety advice and offering free home fire safety checks.

Event organiser PCSO Jenna Hastings said: “We held a similar event in June which was really popular and we’d invite people to come along to join us again. I’d like to thank all the businesses involved for their support and we look forward to seeing people.”
