Rail track death ‘not suspicious’

FATALITY: A man was killed after being hit by a train at Apsley railway station.

British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the scene at 3.49pm on Wednesday where the man, aged 54, from Hemel Hempstead, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The train was travelling from Manchester to Euston.

A BTP spokesman said: “Officers are currently on scene working to establish the man’s identity and inform his next of kin.

“The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
