THE star of a Radio Four sitcom has opened a town centre charity shop.
The specialist book, DVD and music providers in High Street, Berkhamsted, is the second Oxfam store to open in Berkhamsted.
Christopher Douglas, who writes and stars in Ed Reardon’s Week – set in the town, was at the new shop on Saturday.
He said: “I salute you Oxfam for the work you do.”
The other Oxfam store, also in High Street, will now provide a wider range of clothes, homeware, toys, linen and haberdashery – as well as new products like Easter eggs.
It will close for a few days later this month for reorganisation.
Ann Bird, deputy manager of the new shop, said: “I am very excited about this challenge, raising funds for Oxfam’s vital work across the globe.”
