Pub raises cash for Jamie’s dream trip

A FAMILY needs just £1,500 to meet their fundraising target to send poorly Jamie Hodgson to Disney World.

Eddie and Christine Hodgson raised £760 at their event for the 11-year-old held at Boxmoor’s Three Blackbirds pub.

Christine, who lives in Tring, said they have now raised £11,000 towards the trip, once the proceeds from event attended by Mayor of Dacorum Bert Chapman are added to the pot.

She said: “Eddie was really pleased. All our friends turned out. “We appreciate all the help we have had. It is hard to show how pleased we are.

“We would like to thank Amanda the landlady.”

A charity auction is also being held at the pub to raise even more money on Friday night.

Doctors do not know how long Jamie, who suffers from congenital heart disease and a range of other health problems, has to live, which means that every single moment is extra precious to his family.
