A FAMILY fun day will be held at a pub to rake in cash for a terminally-ill mum-of- two.

The New Venture pub in Adeyfield, Hemel Hempstead, is the latest business to back a fundraising drive to send Kaylee Howard and her two daughters on a dream trip to Disneyland Paris.

The event, on Saturday, October 8, has been organised by Kaylee’s pal Toni-Marie Pickett, with the help of pub landlord Ross Hanley and his sister Kerry Makepiece.

Kaylee, 26, who is mum to four-year-old Alisha and three-year-old Keira Reavley, was first diagnosed with cervical cancer in April 2010.

After treatment she was told she was clear of the disease but doctors then discovered it had returned and she has just months to live.

During the fun day, from 11am to 3pm, children’s television favourites Peppa Pig, Ben 10 and Hello Kitty will make an appearance.

Tony The Twist Balloon Man will be there, along with stilt walkers and a bouncy castle. There will be a cake stall, raffle and a sponsored pad punching event.

Speaking of why the pub and its staff want to back the cause, Kerry said: “I have young children and it is just the thought of anything ever happening to me and leaving them behind.”

If you can offer raffle prizes, call 01442 251255.
