THIS happy snap has bagged one budding photographer pride of place in the window of a bustling charity centre.

Paula Marshall’s picture taken at the Big Lunch in Hemel Hempstead won first place in the Big Shot competition.

Dacorum Volunteer Centre invited photographers to enter snaps taken at its open-air lunch event held in Hemel Hempstead’s town centre earlier this month.

There were around 40 pictures entered, which were judged by the centre’s volunteer photographer Stars Newis.

She said Paula’s picture stood out from the crowd because it captured the atmosphere of the fun day, which celebrated the centre’s 40th anniversary.

“The people were so happy and were absolutely enjoying themselves. It seemed to glow,” said Stars.

Paula, of Bennetts End, won £80 in Jessops vouchers. Her picture is now on display at the Volunteer Centre in Marlowes and on the charity’s website.
