A new top dog has been announced to take up the chief executive post at Dacorum Borough Council.

Sally Marshall – the council’s current finance and governance corporate director – will take over from Daniel Zammit when he departs in October.

The boss has decided to take early retirement to spend more time with his young children after a health battle made him re-evaluate his priorities.

Miss Marshall, who will be the authority’s first female chief executive, said: “I am looking forward to continuing to work with our councillors, staff, partners and the local community to bring about the council’s ambitions to support local people and businesses so that our borough can thrive.”
