If you over-indulged at Christmas and want a New Year resolution that you can actually stick to, why not start walking?
Herts County Council’s Countryside Management Service coordinates a popular countywide programme of short, regular walks called the Hertfordshire Health Walks.
These free group walks, led by trained volunteers and graded to suit all fitness levels and abilities, are a great way of meeting new people, getting outside and feeling the many health benefits of walking.
To add to all that, Health Walks are all free, easy to fit into your existing routine and with most of them finishing at a cafe or pub you can reward yourself with a well-earned cup of tea.
Hemel Hempstead’s Councillor Terry Douris says: “Health Walks are the ideal way to get active and stay active. We live in a scenic county with a wealth of wildlife. These walks are a great way to enjoy the countryside and keep fit at the same time, so why not check out our website to find out about walks in your area.”
