Good progress is being made on Hemel Hempstead Methodist Church’s new home on the site of the former Bourne Methodist Church in Northridge Way.
The existing church in Marlowes is due to disappear because of the town centre re-development plans.
Once the new build project is complete, local congregations will then join for services in the new church.
The severe winter weather meant that work was hampered in the early stages after groundbreaking in January, but there is a plan in place to catch up by extending working days and hours.
The shape of the ground floor and worship area is now very clear to see. If all goes to plan, the foundation stone will be laid in September. A small celebration reception is planned at Warners End Community Centre from 11.30am to 2pm on on Thursday, September 5.
