Nationally acclaimed authors drop in at Berkhamsted pub

TWO highly acclaimed authors will lead a literary lunch at a town centre pub on Wednesday, May 2.

Thomas Penn and Stephanie Merritt, who writes under the pseudonym S J Parris, are due at The Kings Arms in Berkhamsted from noon to 3pm – with lunch from 12.30pm.

Mr Penn will read excepts from his Penguin-published historical book, Winter King, The Dawn of Tudor England.

It was hailed the 2011 Book of the Year by the Sunday Times, the Daily Telegraph, the Times Literary Supplement, the Guardian, Daily Mail and Sunday Telegraph.

Ms Merritt will discuss her latest historical thriller, Sacrilege, the third book in a new series published by HarperCollins.

The literary event will include a two-course meal, welcome drinks, coffee, petit fours and a question and answer session with each author.
