AN outdoors music event that was a hit with revellers will return next year.
The Spirit of Tring, held in May, saw 3,000 people turn out to enjoy musical acts.
It was organised by Tring firm Grass Roots to raise cash for local organisations.
Tickets have just gone on sale for next year’s event, which will take place over two nights - Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4, at the Grass Roots Stadium in Cow Lane.
The first night of entertainment is being billed at The Great British Proms, when the English National Orchestra will perform.
On Saturday night, the highlight will be a Mamma Mia performance from stars of the West End hit musical and a full symphony orchestra.
Local band Planet Funk will provide the main support and the organisers have plans to give youth bands the chance to perform on the big stage.
The event will form part of a Tring Summer Festival.
Grass Roots founder David Evans said: “I’ve been asked on many occasions in local shops and hostelries if we would be doing it again. All we need now is the people of the town and surrounding villages to turn out in force.”
