SUPERMARKET Morrisons is in the process of drawing up detailed plans for its new store in Hemel Hempstead.
Council bosses have unveiled a concept of how the supermarket in Marlowes will look but now Morrisons is working up firm plans ready for public consultation later this year.
In the scheme the Civic Centre and West Herts College will be levelled and replaced with a new campus and supermarket.
The store will offer 40,000 square feet of retail space, parking for 536 cars and a petrol station, with access off Leighton Buzzard Road.
The project has a completion date of late 2015 or early 2016.
In a statement Morrisons said: “The project received the backing of Dacorum Borough Council’s full council at a meeting in May and draft plans are being worked up, ahead of public consultation later this year. All consultation events will be widely advertised to help ensure as many people as possible can attend and give their views.”
