Two teenagers have been taken to hospital after paramedics were called to a paintballing centre yesterday afternoon.

A rapid response vehicle, two ambulances and the Herts Air Ambulance rushed to their aid after a 999 call-out at about 2.45pm.

The pair had been enjoying an afternoon out at Delta Force Paintball in Bourne End at the time, when a fight broke out between a group of people.

A 17-year-old boy and three 16-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and bailed until Thursday, May 1.

Police said all bar one of the boys come from Islington – the home area of the third 16-year-old was listed only as London in information released today.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: “Two men, both in their late teens, were injured while paintballing.

“One had sustained an injury to his head and another was suffering from back pain.

“The critical care paramedic and doctor from the air ambulance assessed the two men, but fortunately their injuries were not believed to be of a critical nature and the pair were taken to hospital by land ambulance.

“One man was taken to Watford General Hospital, and the second went to Hemel Hempstead General Hospital.”

Police information suggests the teenager with back pain had also suffered an injury to his leg. There are no records of a gun being fired in the area, contrary to early rumours about the altercation.
