A flower shop that has blossomed in Hemel Hempstead over almost 60 years is to be rebranded next month.
Shirley Hall Florist has survived many changes in the town, including the building of the Riverside Shopping Centre and recent refurbishment of the High Street, where it now remains after a move from its old home along Marlowes.
Its current name stems from original florist Shirley who worked with Halls funeral directors from 1956, before it was sold to 40-year owners Pam and Brian Webb.
The shop has been owned by Alison and Paul Taylor for the last decade, and is among the oldest businesses in the Old Town.
Alison said: “I have owned Shirley Hall for 10 years, and the time is now right for a complete makeover.
“Although our floristry is current, incorporating traditional with contemporary designs, we no longer feel the name reflected that.
“All our florists are kept up to date with current trends in floristry and so although we will be exactly the same staff, offering the same great service and top quality flowers we have become renowned for, the shop will have a new up-to-date image and our new website will be full of creative new designs but also keeping the more popular classic bouquets and arrangements that our customers love.”
From July 1, Shirley Hall will become Alison Taylor Florist and the new website, www.alisontaylorflorist.co.uk, is expected to launch by the end of the same month.
