Eighteen men have driven to the most northerly tip of Europe in a convoy of nine Porsche 944 sports cars to raise cash for Help for Heroes.

They arrived in Nordkapp, Norway, on Saturday after driving almost 3,000 miles.

The men, from in and around Berkhamsted and Tring, set off from The Red Lion in Water End on Wednesday last week.

They aimed to reach their destination before midnight on the summer solstice – and succeeded, and have only just finished the long journey to get back home.

They will have driven about 6,000 miles during the trip there and back – conducted in vehicles built between 1982 and 1991 that were bought for less than £1,100.
