A pair of celebrities visited Hemel Hempstead’s Snow Centre to ‘chill out’ as part of Channel 4 documentary series The Gadget Man.
The first episode of the popular technology programme’s third series visited the venue in order to test out the latest cold-weather gadgets.
In the programme, which aired at 8.30pm last night, presenter Richard Ayoade is joined ‘in the wilds of the Hemel Hempstead Snow Centre’ by comedian Marcus Brigstocke, culminating in some hilarious results.
Richard said: “As well as being a boss place to chillax, Hemel Hempstead’s Snow Centre, with a permanent tempertature below zero, is the perfect place to assess gadgets designed to help us cope when the big freeze hits Britain.”
Filming for the show took place back in May.
The pair of funnymen tested an array of techno trinkets including sledges as well as a juggernaut bike and an uphill ‘thruster’.
The Snow Centre’s managing director Ian Brown said: “The Snow Centre team really enjoyed hosting the Gadget Man’s production and it was a great opportunity to see some very interesting snow-related gadgets.
“Filming for the Gadget Man’s episode ‘Weather’ started back in May with a 6am start on our real snow indoor slopes and finished at around lunchtime.
“This allowed many of The Snow Centre guests to see some of the stars of the show in action, whilst enjoying their morning ski or snowboard session.”
Also in the episode, presenter Richard braves a hurricane in a wind tunnel with comedian Tim Vine.
