Postal staff in the HP postcode area covering most of Dacorum as well as neighbouring areas like Aylesbury have cause for celebration after delivering a first class service.

They topped their target in the last financial year, delivering 94.7 per cent of first class mail the next day after posting.

That’s ahead of the national target of 93 per cent and the national average of 93.2 per cent.

The performance figures also show that 98.9 per cent of second class post was delivered within the target of three working days after posting.

The figures have been published in the latest Royal Mail Quality of Service report, covering the fourth quarter of the financial year.

Royal Mail operations director Tony Fox said: “Our people have continued to deliver to a very high standard in the HP postcode area and across the UK, against one of the highest service specifications of any major European country.

“I would like to thank our postmen and women for their ongoing commitment and dedication.”
