More parking spaces are on the way after a successful one-year project.
Motorists have told Dacorum Borough Council that they are happy with the pilot scheme, which has seen 180 parking bays installed in 20 residential areas across the borough.
Council neighbourhood action team leader Joe Guiton said: “This has been extremely popular with residents and we’ve had excellent feedback. We’re pleased to have started work in lots of areas across the borough, from the main towns to villages, and are looking forward to seeing the results.”
Work has already been finished at four sites this year to provide 73 new parking spaces and another 10 will be completed in Markyate’s Parkfield within the coming weeks.
The council expected to have provided just under 400 extra parking spaces over the next two years to help ease congestion outside homes.
