One of Hemel Hempstead’s industrial estate roads was closed for half an hour this morning after a lorry crashed into the Nickey Line bridge.
The red vehicle, which had a foreign licence plate, had become stuck under the height restriction on Three Cherry Trees Lane shortly after 10am.
Police were called to the scene where it was reported both the lorry and bridge had been damaged in the incident, but the vehicle did not require recovery and highway contractors Ringway ensured the bridge was safe.
The driver of the vehicle was issued with a fixed penalty notice and the road was reopened by 10.36am.
