‘Little James’ illness will not beat us’

Little James suffers from cystic fibrosis

Little James suffers from cystic fibrosis

A mother whose young son suffers from cystic fibrosis is determined to help wipe out the condition through fundraising.

Amanda Maguire of Hemel Hempstead brought little James home from hospital in November 2012 only to discover the next day that he had the life-limiting condition.

She said: “We work hard to keep James healthy which involves every day physiotherapy, medication and ongoing trips to the hospitals. We don’t know what the future holds for our son but I’m not prepared to let CF beat us, so I have decided to take action.”

The mum is on a mission to raise as much as possible for research into the disease, and is holding a family fun event for the cause next Saturday, August 2. Taking place from 6.30pm at Hemel Town Football Club, it will feature a DJ, face painting and much more.

Tickets cost £10, children go free. Call 07930 50735 or visit uk.virginmoneygiving.com/AmandaMaguire for details.
