A suspected drunk driver has been arrested after crashing into two parked cars in Hemel Hempstead last night.
Police were called shortly after midnight to Sheepcote Road, Adeyfield, where one of the cars was discovered to be smoking.
Crews from the town’s Queensway fire station were called for assistance, and firefighters helpd to make the scene safe.
On their arrival it was discovered there was no fire situation and no one was trapped or injured in the incident. No ambulance services were required.
Police confirmed this afternoon that one person was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
Speculation by neighbours on the Facebook page Hemel Hempstead Community & Conversation reported severe damage to the cars and suggested the parked vehicles belonged to two mums living in the area.
